Overview
- Unable to print to Xerox Printer; Accounting needs to be set up on the computer.
- Jobs sent from a user’s computer can only be printed and counted if accounting is enabled in the print driver.
Prerequisites
Has an account on the Xerox machine, same as the credentials used to log into the copier side of the machine
Has a Windows machine with the driver installed on it
Resolution
1. Open Start menu >Printers and Scanners.
2. Select the printer in the list and select Manage.
3. Select the Printer Properties link.
4. On the General tab, click the Change Properties button and allow if prompted.
5. Select the Configuration tab in the properties window.
6. Scroll through the list to find the Accounting System drop-down menu, select Xerox Standard Accounting or Auditron, or Xerox Network Accounting.
7. Select Always Prompt if you want users to type their User ID and Account ID each time they print.
8. If you do not want users to log in, select Do Not Prompt and type the user's information in the Default User ID and Default Account ID fields.
9. Select Mask User ID and Mask Account ID to show characters as asterisks when an ID is entered.
10. Select Remember Last Entered Codes to show the last entered code when a user is prompted for their Account ID.
11. Select Auxiliary Accounting Interface if you are using XSA with an external accounting device.
12. If you want to specify the default User ID and Account ID, type them in the Default User ID, and Default Account ID fields, then select the default account type.
14. Click OK.
15. Click OK to exit.
16. Do a test print from a file, not the driver itself.
