Overview

Instructions on how access your Ferris Office 365 account in the Outlook and Teams apps on an iOS device.

Prerequisites

iOS device and Outlook email account.

Resolution

Check Outlook Compatibility

  1. Goto Outlook Compatibility link
  2. Scroll down to the Information section and note the iOS version required for the Outlook app to work on.
    (Currently supports iOS 17 and above) Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
     
  3. Goto the proper compatibility guide based on the type of device
  4. Select the iOS version in the drop down that corresponds to the information from step 2
  5. If the device is not listed, the only way to access email on the device is to goto office.ferris.edu in a web browser.

Outlook Application Setup

  1. Open the App Store icon on your device.
  2. Search for Microsoft Outlook in the App Store.
  3. Download Microsoft Outlook with your Apple ID.
  4. Once the app has downloaded, touch the Outlook icon to open the app.
  5. Enter your username@ferris.edu address and Ferris passphrase to sign-in.
  6. Once you have authenticated, you will be able to access and interact with your email, calendar, and contacts through the application.

Teams Application Setup

  1. Open the App Store icon on your device.
  2. Search for Microsoft Teams in the App Store or type this link aka.ms/teamsmobiledownload directly on your phone browser to open download
  3. Download Microsoft Teams with your Apple ID.
  4. Once the app has downloaded, tap the Teams icon to open the app.
  5. Enter your username@ferris.edu address and Ferris passphrase to sign in.
  6. Once you have authenticated, you will be able to chat, video conference, and perform other Teams functions.

Setting Up Your Outlook Signature on Mobile

Setting up your signature in Microsoft Outlook on your computer does not set it up on your mobile device. You will have to do this in the Outlook app on your device.

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Then find Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
  3. Scroll down until you get to Signature and enter your signature block information.
