Need help logging in to your Ferris accounts? This article will walk you through the steps to set up your account, reset your password, or unlock your account. MFA is a security feature that requires more than one method of authentication to verify a user's identity.

To log into your Ferris account you must have the following:

1. Your computing ID
2. A valid password or passphrase (16 characters long)
3. Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) enabled and setup
4. Know the minimum password guidelines
5. Know the banned passwords

Resolution

I'm new or have never set up my password

• FIND YOUR COMPUTING ID NOWFind Your Computing ID and Email - 
• Set up MFA (your username is your email from the previous step) - Set up MFA in Office 365
• Additional MFA Help
• Once MFA is set, go to the Password Assistance Tool (passwordhelp.ferris.edu) to set your password.
• After completing all the previous steps, you can log into Ferris360 and Office 365 with your email address and password.

I need help resetting my password

• If you forgot your password or if you remember your password but you simply wish to change your password, open the Password Assistance Tool (password.ferris.edu) to change your password to access your Ferris resources.

1. Enter your Ferris email address and the letters from the captcha.
2. Select I forgot my password. Use this option if you don't remember your password or can't get logged into your email or Ferris360.
3. Select the contact method you’d like to use for verification, provide the information requested and click the blue button below.
4. Enter the verification code you receive from the contact method you chose and click Next.
5. Enter a new password twice and confirm.
6. Success! You can now get back into your account (You may have to wait a couple of minutes if logging in doesn’t work right away)
7. If you are assigned a Ferris Owned device and on campus, please log in using the new password to recache your credentials.
8. If you are assigned a Ferris Owned device and off campus, please follow this guide on how to resync your password

I'm locked out of my account

• NOTE: This will not work if your account was compromised, and IT Services reset your account. Please call the IT Solution Center at 231.591.4822 for assistance if this does not work.

1. Open the Password Assistance Tool (passwordhelp.ferris.edu).
2. Enter your Ferris email address and the letters from the captcha.
   
3. Select I know my password, but still can’t sign in. 
4. Select the contact method you’d like to use for verification and provide the information requested. 
   
5. Enter the verification code you receive from the contact method you chose. 
   
6. Microsoft may ask you to do an additional method that was listed in step 4.
7. Success! You can now get back into your account with your current password.
