Body
Overview
When someone tries to switch between 2 different systems in the same window/profile, they will get a log in error. Example: When a student uses TimeClock Plus, they connect using their student Ferris MS Account. When an ITSC student uses TDx, they connect using their ITSC Ferris MS Account. If the student is in the same browser window when changing from TimeClock Plus to TDx (or vice versa), they will get an error. Same is true for being logged into multiple other systems but needing different email accounts for logging in.
Prerequisites
Needing to log into multiple Microsoft (MS) accounts quickly (TDX, TCP, Ferris360, Non Ferris Email, Ferris Email, Entra, Defender)
Resolution
Chrome Profiles
- To create a profile without creating a Google Account, do the following:
- Open Chrome
- In the upper right corner of the browser window, find and click on the profile button.

- From the menu that appears, select Add.
- In the resulting dialog, click on Continue without an account
- Complete the forms for making the profile.
- When you finish adding the profile, you will have two profiles.
- Use one for TimeClock Plus and everything else not ITSC related.
- Use the other for TDx and everything else ITSC related.
- After making the two profiles:
- Go to the 1st profile button (see image in step 1.2 above)
- Goto office.ferris.edu online or website and login to your 1st MS account
- Go to the 2nd profile button (it will automatically open a 2nd window)
- Goto office.ferris.edu or website and login to your 2nd MS account
Note: You may have to force Chrome to logout of one or the other of your Ferris MS accounts before you can login to that Ferris MS account in the other window. This should not happen often, but it may happen occasionally.
4. Use each profile to access items associated with that profile.
5. Either locate the 2 windows in the task bar or click the profile buttons in the upper right to navigate back and forth between the 2 windows
