Overview

Learn how to change your default Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) method for your Ferris Microsoft 365 account. Two MFA methods are recommended in case one method is not available. MFA authentication is required when logging in on different devices and apps. 

Prerequisites

Ferris Microsoft 365 account.

Resolution

  1. Navigate to office.ferris.edu in your browser and type your email address into the box. Select Next and enter in your account password. Select the Sign in button.
  1. Once logged into your account you will see a screen like the image below; select your account name on the lower left of the screen.

  2. Once you have selected your account name, Select the View Account link.

  3. After selecting View account, a new tab will open. Select the Security info from the left-hand menu or select UPDATE INFO.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
     
  4. After selecting either Security info or UPDATE INFO, the page will refresh to allow you to add/delete/change authentication methods.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  5. Select Change next to the default sign-in method.
     
  6. You will see the pop-up window where you can change your default method for authentication. Choose your preferred method from the drop-down menu and select the Confirm button to save.
