Overview
How to access Canvas.
Prerequisites
An active student or employee assigned to at least one course in Canvas.
2FA/MFA needs to be configured before logging in for the first time.
Resolution
1. Access Ferris360
Start by opening your preferred web browser and navigating to Ferris360.
2. Log in with Credentials
Once on the Ferris360 login page, enter your Ferris State email address and password in the provided fields. This is the same username and password you use to log into Microsoft 365.
3. Navigate to the Canvas Tile
After successfully logging in, you'll find yourself on the Ferris360 dashboard. Look for the Canvas tile—it's usually prominently displayed for quick access. If you can't find it there, you can utilize the search function. Click on the Canvas tile to proceed.
Note: You must be assigned at least one course in Canvas to log in. Students must be officially enrolled in a course. Faculty must be assigned to teach a course in Banner.
4. Single Sign-On (SSO) to Canvas
Ferris360 employs Single Sign-On (SSO) technology to seamlessly connect you to Canvas without requiring additional login credentials. Clicking the Canvas tile will automatically sign you in to your Canvas account with the same username and password you use for Ferris360.
5. Explore Your Canvas Dashboard
Congratulations! You've successfully logged into Canvas through Ferris360. Once inside Canvas, you'll have access to all your courses, announcements, assignments, and more. Navigate through the dashboard to find the specific course you're looking for.
