Tech Help at the Start of Fall Semester

Need Help Getting Connected?

Let us help you connect your devices to the Ferris WiFi.  You may also purchase optional hardware to make the most of your networking experience in the residence halls and in on-campus housing. The eLearning team may also be available to assist you with any Canvas issues.

  • Remember to bring your power supply if you have a laptop.
  • Bring your Ferris ID card (Bulldog Card).
  • If you are bringing a desktop computer, you don't need to bring a monitor.

SCHEDULE

During the first three days of classes (Monday through Wednesday), you can visit us in the David L. Eisler Center just outside of room 108 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to receive help connecting your computer and mobile devices to the Ferris network and for assistance with Canvas issues. All students must check in at the IT Services table. IT staff will direct you to the person who can assist you with your particular need.

Can't make it to the Tech Help event? Stop by room 108 during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for assistance.

CONNECTING EQUIPMENT YOURSELF

Use these instructions to connect your device physically in your room via Ethernet, or to the wireless network.

If you would like, you can set up your computer to print to the front desk of your residence hall or to a location for the apartments.

Please Note: We do not take in any computers for repair at the Tech Help event. If your problem is networking related, a technician may be able to assist you.
