Dell 3060 MFF Desktop - Proper Display Connection

Overview

Displays connected to recommended desktop device Dell Optiplex 3060 MFF must be connected with the proper adapters and cables.

Prerequisites

Issues arise with improper display connection, especially with the LG 27 inch displays. Daisy chaining the displays together causes inconsistent display orientation and resolution issues. 
DP = DisplayPort 

Resolution

Single monitor:

  • Can be connected via HDMI-to-HDMI cable, DP-to-DP cable or DP-to-DVI adapter (mainly for older monitors). 

Dual monitors:

  • Can be connected via HDMI-to-HDMI cable, DP-to-DP cable and/or DP-to-DVI adapter (for older monitors without HDMI, two DP-to-DVI adapters can be used). 

Triple monitors:

  • Can be connected via HDMI-to-HDMI cable, DP-to-DP cable or DP-to-DVI adapter. If no HDMI input is available, use HDMI-to-DVI adapter along with DP-to-DVI adapters for proper monitor function. 
Note: Under no circumstances should you daisy chain two monitors together. This will result in unwanted and inconsistent display performance.
