Overview
I need access Read & Write in order to have the computer read the screen text to me outloud.
Prerequisites
Must have an active Ferris email account
Resolution
If you need Read & Write on a Ferris owned Windows computer, goto Software Center and Install the software and start following step 5 below
If this is for a personal computer or not a PC install, please follow the directions below
1. Go to www.texthelp.com and click on the Read&Write product page.
2. Click the red try Read&Write button.
3. Click the version you prefer. It will download the installer or browser extension.
4. Install the software
a. If you are using a PC this means you will need to go to the download folder and run the installer.
b. For Droid or Mac it will take you to the respective downloadable application (App Store or Play Store). Don’t forget to go into the settings of the device and add the keyboard and allow it to have access.
c. For Edge and Chrome it will take you to an installation page for the extension.
5. Sign into the application.
a. For PC the first time you activate the program it will ask you to sign in by going to your default web browser. Sign in with the Ferris Microsoft account.
b. For Droid or Mac run the application and it will bring up the setting. You will see an option to log into your Ferris Microsoft account from there.
c. For Chrome or Edge, locate the Read&Write toolbar, click the three dots for more options and click the settings option.
Inside the settings menu, locate the account section. Log in using your Ferris Microsoft account.
6. The first time you log in you may need to enter the product code for it to unlock all the features. This can be done from each version's respective settings menu.
